Why we are so unique
Being the only Optimist, coaching rib and keelboat distributor from the same manufacturer, it helps us to get the best boats and prices to the sailing clubs and sailors. Our team has either been on the National Sailing Team or have worked in the sailboat manufacturing business.
How come we are so affordable? With us, you pay the distributor’s price, not the dealer’s price. Because of quality standard is so high, we prefer to do everything ourselves. We do all our assembly and delivery. Sometimes it involves driving a Fareast 19R all the way to Texas, but who doesn’t like a good road trip and seeing a very excited new owner…!
Martin Robitaille
Owner
Born a sailor, Martin started to race at the young age of 11, and it did not take long before he switched to the Finn. At 17 years old, Martin moved to Toronto to study mechanical engineering and to train with the National Team, where he became the youngest qualifying member of the team just weeks before his 18th birthday.
Two years later, Martin went on to win the Junior World Championships. The opportunity to compete at the highest level and train alongside Olympic medalists helped him understand what it takes to be a world-class sailor.
After seven years on the National Team and three Olympic campaigns, Martin decided to head back to Montreal to complete his engineering degree and spend more quality time with his supportive family at home.
After returning home, Martin was looking for a new way to share his love for sailing by growing the sport in North America. While completing his degree, he had the opportunity to buy the right of distribution for Fareast. With his network and passion, he grew the business exponentially. Martin’s passion, knowledge, and drive made all the difference in building Fareast Boats Canada. For him, it is not about the technicalities of the sport, but more about sharing how fast, fun, and simple sailing can be.

Marek has been a passionate sailor since attending a sailing camp as a child. Switching to the Laser class ticked a switch in him, igniting his drive to excel. His journey took him through various clubs, allowing him to build strong connections within both the French and English sailing communities. Marek’s dedication deepened during his first winter training in Florida, where he began taking the sport more seriously.
That same year, he transitioned to the ILCA 7 and went on to compete in multiple World Championships. Driven by a love for rigging, Marek founded Rigging Guru to solve the challenges of sourcing specialized sailboat parts. With a passion for splices and custom rigging systems, his great understanding of lines, splices, and rigging systems allows him to provide clients with tailored solutions. The business quickly grew from servicing small boats to expanding into the keelboat market, addressing the needs of larger vessels.
